We have a rather aged application written in Fortran that we need to interface to an existing I4GL application. We own the rights to the source code of both applications. Ideally, the Fortran application needs to populate tables in the Informix application. Anybody out there achieved anything of this ilk? Therefore you cannot write 4GL that is FORTRAN callable or FORTRAN that is 4GL callable you will have to write "C", or ESQL/C, glue code to bind these. You can write a FORTRAN callable function in C that then calls 4GL functions and you can write 4GL callable functions that in turn call a FORTRAN function. We have done this here for ESQL/C. Art S.
