Upgrade to 7.1
Posted in 1995
Hi Informix folks:
I'm in the midst of upgrading from 5.0 to 7.1 Online.
My first try resulted in an error creating the
sysmaster database due to a missing entry in the .rhosts
file for user informix. I fixed that and re-initialized
online with oninit -s. When I checked the output of
onstat -m, It appeared to come into quiescent mode withouta problem and on I went.
I then, rebuilt the indexes of my various databases (or
update'd statistics when necessary). In the process of
doing database verification, all my databases look good
(catalog tables, data, and indexes), except for
systmaster where I get output such as:
Validating systables for database sysmaster
ISAM error: no record found.WARNING:No systabauth record for TBLspace informix.sysrawdsk.
TBLspace name sysrawdsk
Owner informix
TBLspace number 1
Tabid 102
Row size 76
Number of columns 5
Number of indexes 1
Number of rows 100000

TBLspace major version number 102
TBLspace minor version number 3
TBLspace type T
Locking level P
Number of pages used 0
First extent size 16
Next extent size 16

ISAM error: no record found.
I guess I could just drop the sysmaster database and
reinitialize. Will this destroy the integrity of
my existing databases.
All input is gratefully accepted. I, of course, have
a nasty deadline to meet for this upgrade and want to
make sure this is a viable upgrade before folks start
using it.
Thank You.
