T> T> With standard engine, yup: T> T> START DATABASE foobar WITH LOG IN "/usr/trans_log" Sorry, I misunderstood. You can only restart the log if no-one else has got the DB open. If you can ensure a gap of a few seconds where the DB is closed by all, no problem. Otherwise, problem. S> If I archive the [OnLine Logs] to disk, can this be a normal S> disk file? Can I give it a S> bogus tape dev name to write to a normal file this way? I get the impression that this is just fine if you do an auto-backup, and all the logs fit (in the file you've named) on the disk partition. If it asks you to change tapes, you're stuck. I.e. specify a large tape size in the tbmonitor screen. I don't see an automatic way of doing this, tho'. Any takers ? I suppose you could write the whole lot down a named pipe and write new files every 10MBytes or so, but you'd have to do the exact compliment to get the stuff back. Seriously ugly. Also, does the other DB have to be waiting in "restore" mode ? S> The drives will be SCSI on a caching host adapter. Both machines will also S> have duplxed SCSI systems. Two HAs, two HDs.
