One method that works for me in what looks to be a permission/paths
problem is to first get permission for the user executing the cron
script to execute the Unix "at" command. This often means putting that
username in the /etc/at.allow file as superuser. Then, logged into the system
as the user, use the "at" command to run whatever you want cron to run. This
will cause a file to be generated in (usually) the /usr/spool/at directory.
This file will have a lot of variable-setting/exporting, path statements,
and finally, the text of the job you want to run. If you take this file (
usually a long number) and execute it, your job should run, and it
should also run under cron.
