Dbschema bug:

Informixers: I just discovered a bug in dbschema. If you have any external tables that are defined as FORMAT "INFORMIX" dbschema will hang permanently after printing out the DDL for the first such table. If you run into this problem before a fix is released by IBM (already reported) you can use my dbschema replacement utility, myschema, instead. Myschema supports all of the functionality of dbschema except the -hd option (to print data distributions). Some options use different flags than their dbschema counterparts, but it's all there and more. Myschema is included in the package "utils2_ak" which you can download and use free from the IIUG Software Repository at www.iiug.org/software.
