Run this program and set up everything properly. If you have no manual there is one at http://www.informix.com/answers/ Look for Informix Connect and/or Informix Net. Of course the client software would usually be installed on the client, not the server. Some do however install the programs on the server and run them from the client (via normal file sharing). That's a good idea particularly if you have many clients. : and also if it :is installed does it mean that ESQL/C is installed automatically. Not necessarily, and particularly not the development environement. : What :ESQL/C is good for ? There is a development version if you are in the unhappy league of C programmers. Than you need that or the Informix CLI which is an ODBC driver (so you can use standard ODBC calls from your C application). There is also a runtime version so you can run programs others have developed using C and Informix Connect/Informix Net as the communication method. You don't need it for ODBC unless your ODBC driver uses I-Connect/I-Net. :I have Informix On-Line Worgroup server ver. 7.12 installed under WinNT :4.0. This is a very old version. You should definitely get a newer one. On NT the newer ones have much better performance.
