The -461 is a BLOB error and usually spurious, especially since ISAM -100 is duplicate key. This is usually returned by a 4GL program which was linked with ODS 6.0x libraries and is being run against a 7.xx local server using shared memory. If you recently upgraded your server and 4GL from 6.0x to 7.xx then you will need to recompile EVERYTHING. All modules including library code plus all forms. Also 4GL 6.0 looks for it's message files in $INFORMIXDIR/msg while 7.xx moved them to $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333 (for the US locale) because of GLS. In a pinch you can try linking all the files in the latter directory to the older location. Art S. Kagel PS - If the offending program works fine with INFORMIXDIR set to the old 6.0x directory and INFORMIXSERVER set to a network connection (make sure that connection is named in the sqlhosts you are now pointing to) then this is the answer.
