Irving, can you tell me how could you copy the chunks with the dd? I have a brocken SCO with a Informix 7 DB and I want to copy the entire DB in a new system. I have 4 chunks in a raw device. How can i know where each chunck start and end to use the DD command? Thanks in advance Mauro

Because whatever the chunks I copied does not have offsets. i.e all chunks that I copied has offset 0. Let us ask experts, if any one used dd command and had offset on the chunk. -D
