order of update stats

in practice i have found that the next schema is very effectife in: - time to process - performance after it has been run we run it only once every 3 months, of course a lot will depend on the application. First do: UPDATE STATISTICS LOW DROP DISTRIBUTION next do for every table in the database only mentioning those fields that do appear is indexes: UPDATE STATISTICS HIGH FOR TABLE xxx (field_1, field_7, field_23 ) If you try it please let me know the results Henk Sanders hjs@worldonline.nl
