The appl process cannot connect

I am trying to sqlconnect to an IDS 10 database. I have two sdk's installed, one in /usr/informix and one in /usr/informix32 I am getting error 25588 when I try to ISQL connect (unixODBC) I have set INFORMIXDIR to be /usr/informix32 and PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH reflect 3the 32bit programs and libraries. Any suggestions?
