Value of current function in 4GL

One of our machines is running SunOS 5.3 (Solaris 2.3). On this machine we are running Informix 5.02.UC7 with binaries compiled on a machine running Sun 4.1.3 and Informix running 5.02.UC6. (Don't ask why, it wasn't my idea.) Anyway, one user has produced a 4 or 5 line 4GL program which has the following lines: define timestamp datetime year to minute let timestamp = current display timestamp He runs this program and then runs the Unix date command. Ocassionally, they differ by about 8 hours. Anyone else experience this? If so, do you know why or have a work around? Send replies to timh@amgen.com and I will summarize. Thanks Tim
