IDS 9.40 Buffer Management

Hello. Can anyone explain what are the differences between buffer management on IDS 9.40 and other versions? I saw a presentation that showed high priority buffers in a FIFO queue before being managed by the normal LRU queues. How does this work? Thanks. RDT.
