jdbc problems

Hello Informix Brethren, Does anyone know of a bug that occurs between the jdbc driver version 1.40JC2 and the IDS engine 7.24.UC5; that specifically, causes a database to crash with an assert failure when the IFX_AUTOFREE=1 parameter is passed in a connection string? This seems to only happen to us when using prepared statements that generate multiple result sets. I realize this is a very esoteric question, and perhaps more suited to Informix Tech Support, but if you've heard of anything related or can help in any way, I'd appreciate it. Any background on common jdbc problems that may be related could be benificial, as I am a novice in the java/DBMS partnership. Thanks
