dynamic menus in 4GL

Hello, Informix 4GL version 6.02.UCL SCO Openserver 5.0.2 I've been using dynamic menus for a new version of our software containing multi-lingual menu options dependent on the user language. So the menu options are being composed at run time. In most cases the menu choices are unique, so therefore the user can press key of the first letter of the option instead of using the cursor keys to select. However in some cases there are menu options which begin with the same key. I have tried using COMMAND KEY(l_var) where l_var is assigned at run time -- this produces compile errors. Anybody else had a requirement to do this? Huw huw@adsoft.com
