I am trying to setup apache and php3 w/informix. I have tried it on a HP9000/I60 with IDS 7.30, 4gl 7.20, SQL 7.20 and Client SDK 2.20 (ESQL 9.20). After getting a good make and install as a ststic shared module of php3, the make of apache ends up with many unresolved symbols--all have to do with informix. I am using apache_1.3.6 and php3-3.0.11. Are there some known library problems here? I have also tried on Redhat Linux 6.0 with the same versions of apache and php3. Informix is SE 7.24, ESQL 7.24, SQL 7.20 and 4GL 7.20. Here I tried a shared module and when apache tries to load it , it says "Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libphp3.so into server: /usr/informix/lib/esql/libixos.so: undefined symbol: _xstat. This again seems to point to some kind of library problem? Any ideas out there?

I'm not sure about this, but the chances are you need to be using the esql script to do the linking, but you aren't doing so. Or, you need to list more libraries on the link line to satisfy the Informix code. You probably need to list at least one Informix object file. Without any specific (or even example) missing names, it is hard to be more helpful. > I have also tried on Redhat Linux 6.0 with the same versions of apache > and php3. The RH 6.0 libraries do not provide the _xstat functions, which is a complete and utter nuisance, and a fairly major upwards compatability issue. Anyway, as far as I can tell, you cannot use the 7.24 ESQL/C on RH 6.0. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
