Dear all, My new assignment is analysing existing medical image processing system for upgrading informix. Current informix version 7.30 IDS and OS is digital unix 4.0. whenever user scans the documents which will be stored as image in the system. Front end is .net,c#. After seeing the df -k output I have a doubt whether digital unix ADVFS feature is used for the stripes configuration. The output of df -k is follow as file system 1024 blocks used available capacity mounted on dbdom#chunk01 2437567 1000000 1437567 51 % /database/chunk01 . . . dbdom#chunk14 2437567 1000000 1437567 51 % /database/chunk01 imagedom#stripe01 10000000 500000 500000 50 % /image/stripe01 . . . imagedom#stripe88 10000000 500000 500000 50 % /image/stripe88 Since I am new to the stripes concept I have the following questions 1. how image stripes are configured? 2.How image stripes are connected to informix database?There are three blob dbspaces are avilable.In this system file systems are used for database.There is no raw device concept. 3.Is there any documentation available for image striping? Hey - I'm fairly sure I designed that system you're working on... (I could be completely mistaked - but it does down *very* similar) Wasn't that all explained to you when you got the outsourcing contract ? More importantly - are the clients happy that you dont understand their system ? Dear sir, Thanks for your response.I have been hired 3 months as informix DBA to do analysis for upgrading informix 7.31 to informix 10. If you have designed this system,can you please share how adfs files are created with stripes and how stripes are configured to informix database?
