I've found performance to suffer whenever i've had more that 5 users connected and i don't believe my installation was that badly configured (i closely follow the performance/configuration threads on cdi :-). On NT you can't allocate as much shared memory (1 GB or something similar seems to ring a bell - does someone have an exact figure). We've opted for Unixware on Intel - now performance is OK but stability is down the drain. What about Solaris on Intel? -----Original Message----- From: Paul watson [mailto:watsop@russellcorp.co.uk] Sent: Monday, October 11, 1999 10:18 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: RE: Seeking comments on stability of Informix on various platforms >>Pretty much anything sucks on NT. :-> There are people who claim to get >>good stability on NT, but they're few and far between. >> >>If you wanted something rock-solid, and you had to choose between Intel/NT >>and Sparc/Solaris, I'd go with Sparc every time. > > >[Murray Wood] >We have clients running on NT.
