Re: Failure of ordered select statements in Informix 4.10

No further progress I'm afraid. What seems to be happening is that the engine thinks it is going to return hundreds of thousands of rows, on some select statements, and even then only INTERMITTENTLY! If I'm in isql it simply hangs; in 4gl it fills up any arrays until the limit is reached, at which point it crashes with an error message. Has anyone any idea why the engine should try to put 131072 rows into an array when there are only 19 in the whole table, and none that should be returned by the select?
