IDS 7/8/9 are all available in their latest incarnations on that platform. You can export from Informix to flat files and load the data into SQL Server if needed, also IDS 9.xx can define external tables which can reside in other servers, then there's Informix Enterprise Gateway.... Art, thanks for the response. However, the statment "You can export from Informix to flat files and load the data into SQL Server if needed" is troublesome, well, how does one maintain data structure, entity relations etc. system schemas? Someone has suggested using MS DTS. Maybe that's a viable option. Have you tried that approach? Thanks. "Art S. Did not realize you were seeking to port the entire database from IDS to SQL Server. Unfortunately I avoid using MS products as much as I can get away with, so I cannot help much more. I will tell you that you can use Visio to reverse engineer the IDS schema and then should be able to import it into SQL Server. Art S. Kagel > Art, thanks for the response.
