The above reference material is primarily for greater-than-1 machine set-ups, however there is still good information regarding data warehousing set-ups where only one machine is involved. I think you'll like the write-ups as many are done with HP in mind. You'll also like the write-ups that Informix gets with XPS, and I might add that the upcoming release of XPS 8.3 looks quite exciting. XPS 8.3 is a major, important release coming out and will definitely add to the strength of using Informix as a data warehousing DB engine. Preliminary information about the upcoming features sounds very nice. Getting back to your original question, the book does address your RAID questions quite well. I can't comment further on your other questions, as I don't have the time, but I'm sure after you get the above mentioned book, you will have a lot more ideas about how you want to proceed. The DW Best Practices book from Informix may have some ideas too, but my copy disappeared, so I can't tell you. :-) Good Luck!
