Abdullah, at least go the the latest minor version of 9.40 - i believe it is UC7 and as suggested, get the download from IBM and release notes will have kernel parameter settings. you could also do unload/load and creating scripts to disable/and re-enable constraints, indexes, triggers but it is more work to do so. don't forget to run update stats after upgrading.
