You are able to run multiply versions of Informix. You need to set up a separate alias to set your variables. Do not set them up by virtue of logging onto the server as the Informix owner. We have multiply versions of Informix running on the same server. We also do the same for Oracle, run multiply versions that is. Barbara A. But, if you are asking if you can have multiple INFORMIXDIRs, and thereby multiple versions of Informix, on any one system than the answer is yes, this is a quite acceptable technique. sending to informix-list
