Brian.
There are a number of bugs that exhibit this kind of failure condition. It may be worth setting
AFDEBUG, this will suspend the engine at the 'panic' stage and allow you to use the onstat diagnostics
tool to find out what's was running. With this info you can run it past Informix Tech Support.
