Christophe MAUMONT asked how to jump directly to line n of an input array in 4GL RDS. Jonathan Leffler said that is only possible in D4GL or I4GL 7.30. Howard proposed a workaround: add an autonext, noentry field to each line and skip rows in a BEFORE FIELD clause. Christophe replied he only had 4GL 7.20.

Bonjour,
Is there a way to go directly to a line n, not the first, in a "input array"
? (4GL RDS).
Thank you.

Only in D4GL (any version) or I4GL 7.30.

Not very elegantly but it is possible :
Put a autonext, noentry field on the end of each line of the array.
Before field <first entry field>
if current line not one I want then
next fiield < notentry field>
end if
This will scroll the array down to the line you want.
Hope this helps
Regards
H
