If you have to ask this you shouldn't attempt to modify the file. This is RTFM, very much so. You'll depend on knowing so much before tuning OnLine in this way that if you have missed this in the manuals, you may also have missed a lot of other info. Sorry for this. I don't mean to say anything bad about you as a person at all. *Only* that you have to read the manuals for the work you intend to do, and possibly take an Informix course. The clue to the answer is an environement variable that have to be set.
