remote access - Invalid service or protocol

Hi folks, I'm trying to use dbaccess in IUS 9.1 to connect to a informix db in another machine running IDS 7.3. A 'invalid service or protocol not supported error' is returned. The protocol used is onsoctcp. I've declared an entry in the IUS 9.1 sqlhosts file and the service name of the IDS 7.3 server in the 9.1 machine. But to no avail. When a different machine using IDS 7.14 is used, I am able to establish a connection with the IDS 7.3 So is there a compatibility problem with IUS 9.1 with IDS 7.x???? Any help is appreciated.
