before/after field definitions using screen arrays

We have just discovered that the 4.13/4.14 4gl compilers no longer support the syntax after field table_name.column_name When using input from screen records. after field column_name Is required instead. The table_name.column_name syntax still works for input directly from a form. In fact tablename.column_name is required if there are two columns with the same name in different tables. Have other people found this change has caused them problems? Informix support have told us that it is a 'documentation error' and will not be fixed. Given the prospect of trudging through thousands of lines of code we're wondering if anyone has found some other way of getting round this.
