Borland have always been good at providing development tools, and I can't say anything bad about Delphi, except that it's based on Pascal, and that's purely a matter of opinion.... :-). But what about application partitioning? This is not something that is just an academic issue - we find real uses for partitioning in almost every system we develop. Also, if you have a substantial investment in Informix-4GL code, then NE must receive preference over every other tool. Because we'd spent many years developing 4GL apps, we were extremely reluctant to adopt any Client/Server tool. NewEra gave me and my customers a useful (albeit imperfect) upgrade path. We have found that NE has improved with leaps and bounds with every release and are quite happy with the strategic decision we have taken to use NewEra exclusively. > I can't really comment on the other two except to say that I loathe VB > because it is not (remotely) Object Oriented, and I question the ability > to use it in a large project, but plenty of people seem to. Amen. My ZAR0.02 worth (and that's not worth much! :-) -- Ciao, Billy I'd be in favour of apathy, but I just can't get fired up about it...
