Connectivity problems, HELP

I'm trying to setup an connection with an Informix SE database version 7.2. to be able to develop dynamic web pages using Active Server Pages. The development tool I use is Microsoft Visual Interdev 1.0. I used several ODBC connectors (like Intersolv 3.11 with Informix Connect) and even OLE DB, but sofar without a good result. I'm able to make a DataSource, connect to the database and see the table layout, but as soon as metadata get's posted, all kind of strange error messages come up like SQL_MAX_QUALIFIER_LEN etc. etc. Anybody out there who can tell me exactly what version of what product I need to make a proper connection ?? The development package Visual Interdev runs on NT4.0, the Informix SE Database runs under Solaris 2.5. Any help is highly appreciated (and I cannot believe that I'm the only person on this world who want to retrieve data from his database via this method......)
