It's a bit of a shot in the dark, but the only case I've come across of
OnLine 6 randomly crashing is when you try to access Unix files, eg with
SET EXPLAIN ON or with TRACE ON in SPL. We were told this was a knownproblem scheduled for urgent fixing.
As a first stab you could try eliminating all Unix file i/o and see if
the problem goes away.
