I heard a claim once that DEC Alphas have such stunning disk caching technology that the traditional strategy for installing OnLine - give it as many separate raw disks as possible - may not hold as the most efficient approach. Would anyone care to relate their experiences of installing OnLine on this platform please. What disk config options are available and what are their relative merits for OnLine? akent@cix.compulink.co.uk (Andy Kent) ------------------------------------------------ Freelance Informix Database Specialist, Redland, Bristol, England
