memory release
Posted in 1997
Hi
We are running Online 7.23UC4 on HP O/S 10.20 with 229 MB physical
memory, 6 physical diskes, 1 CPU and KAIO-enabled.
It seems that the Informix 7.23 requires a lot of memory. It dymanically
allocates virtual memory all day long and frees very little until the user
logs out. How can we free memory from a session that does not end
until the user is ready to go home? We tried the onmode -F to free
memory, but it does not free much. The users are complaining about the
slow peformance. Sometimes it take them one or two minutes to get a
next screen.
Here is the onconfig information.
