Light Appends: How besides HPL?

Folks I thought you could get use of light append buffers on loads by simply reducing the buffer cache < table size and setting ISOLATION... (like with light scan buffers). Can you get this without using HPL? Thanks Paul Johnson paul.johnson@aethos.co.uk
