I first figured it must be the ODBC and I-Net > drivers were not compatible with NT (since they are 16 bit drivers), so I tried to connect to the Informix > Database via Excel, MS Access and Visual BASIC (not in a CGI mode). I was able to connect to the Informix > Database in all cases. Only when the VB app is running in CGI mode do I get the error, > "ODBC--connection to 'DataSourceName' failed. I noted that Java:ODBC could only see 32bit drivers (ones that appeared in ODBC32 on Control Panel). On the other side, another program could only see 16bit drivers (ones that appeared in ODBC on Control Panel). It seems to me that applications that see 16bit drivers don't see 32bit drivers and vice-versa. You could try and see what driver VB in CGI mode is using and defining there the connection to informix. Hope this helps. -- Carlos Costa e Silva (minimal@mail.telepac.pt)
