-> How Informix stores date fields ? date fields are stored as 'number of days since 12/31/1899' for Informix sql, esql, 4gl etc. in a INTEGER (in 'C' a long) datatype. Informix also uses datetime fields, which are stored in a structure defined by Informix - don't have the exact layout in front of me though if you have esql/c look in the esql include files for the structure definition.
