RE: 40GB limits?

Bashar, You can create as many dbspaces as you like (there should be an informix limit on that value but it won't bug you) in an NT device (which are the logical drives on your system) as far as its size <= 2.0 GB. Then you can add as many chunks to a dbspace as you like with same size limitation. You dont have to assign each chunk to a logical drive. NT dbspaces and chunks are files i.e d:\\ifmxdata\\<your_db_server_name>\\rootdbs_dat.000 is your primary chunk for rootdb dbspace. Then rootdbs_dat.001 representing second chunk of the root dbspace and so on. Same applies for data, log, physical, temporary dbspaces. We have several "real" IDS 7.23 TC14 servers running on "real" NT 4.0 SP4 OS with total 54-59 GB size (14-15 2GB chunks in several dbspaces). They are working fine.
