Re: How to post a query

The information given in the proposed form is comprehensive to the point of overkill for most questions. Do not get me wrong; sometimes it is all necessary. But most of the time, much of that information is not needed. For most questions, the name and version of the tool (eg ISQL, I4GL, NewEra), the name and version of the engine (SE, OnLine), the platform (hardware) and operating system (including version) are sufficient. So, for example, "I have a problem with I4GL 4.16.UC1 and OnLine 7.21.UC1 on Sun Sparc with Solaris 2.4" would be sufficient -- provided that the description of the problem is OK. Sometimes, all the detailed information will be needed, but the information I gave is typically enough for the initial question.
