Hi everybody, up to now we have been using resident 0 on 7.31FC7.But we recently added 1 Gbyte of Memory (total 3 GB).Should I turn resident 1 , and does Informix recomment using residency when using KAIO? Another question is that every time I stop and startr the database the # of KAIO vp increases one.(Total 2 CPU s and 2 KAIO vp s).I know this is a bug but what number will it reach till another upgrade?Thankx... Always # of KAIO VP = # of CPU VPs. There is a bug where an extra KAIO thread is started but this is never used. > >Sent via Deja.com >http://www.deja.com/ -- David Williams
Yes setting RESIDENT to 1 (resident the buffer pool and fixed size structures) or -1 (resident the virtual segment as well, almost a requirement on HP) will improve performance on a busy system.
