439 Error

Hi Everyone, We are using Informix 7.2 , Esql 7.13 on HPUX 10.10. I would like to know if there is any workaround for the following : There is a multi threaded application in C++, which is using esqlc for some database activity. There is a common esqlc function which is called by all threads, one at a time. The problem now is this: If a thread is killed/dies when it is in this esqlc function, the database does not get the signal. When another thread tries to execute the same esqlc function , it gives error:439 - Processing sql task. There is no way to overcome this error, ie. the statements DISCONNECT CURRENT CLOSE DATABASE DATABASE XXX sql_break() sql_exit() sql_done() DO NOT WORK !! We tried doing this statements before the thread tried to exit also. Once the 439 error occurs , nothing works, it does not finish the task. So my question is is there any way to overcome this problem ??? What can be done so that on 439 error, the connection can be reset again... Has it got anything to do with ThreadSafe esqlc ? (We heard that 7.13 is not thread safe and 7.2 is thread safe) Waiting for your responses Thanks Max \\\\\\\\\\\\|////// \\\\ ^ ^ // ( @ @ ) ( * ) 0 |----------------------------oOOo----oOOo------------------------------| |Madan Mashalkar | Email: madan@infogain.com | |INFOGAIN Inc. | Ph. : (510)-636-0300 Ext. 2131 | |10670, N.
