Unisys Informix SQL slow

We have Informix SQL/4GL on a Unisys 5000/90. It has 25MHz boards, EDT controller, DMC4 controller, and 44 Mb of memory. Approx 40 simultaneous users, 24 in Informix of one type or another, other in OFIS, UNIFY, Tactician spreadsheets and misc. Informix is SQL 2.10.03G and 4GL RT 1.10.03G (std. for DA Minis sites). Our users experience extremely slow load times for .4ge files which have been generated by our application developer. some of these files are 1MB+, and can take 45 secs to load (user chooses item off 4ge menu and it takes 45 secs to come up with "form" he called for). On another Unisys system, with same software levels, but Development 4GL, 5000/80 (slower), and only 5-8 users it loads in 15 seconds. Is there anything that could be done as an end-user administrator (not the application developer) to make this go faster? Our kernal has been tuned best we know how, cannot have any more buffers in it. Particularly interested in hearing from DA Minis sites running AFES (which this is).
