Hi Can anyone confirm that if I wish to remove detached indexes that I think are not used, the isread field of sysptprof which show that information. If it is 0, doe that means the index is totally unused since the last reboot.
Or at least since the last time the stats were zero'd, yes. Actually you are unlikely to see zeros unless the table is completely staic, but, even if you see that isreads is about the same as iswrites, it is likely unused. The isreads will be significantly higher than iswrites if the index is being used. Art Art S. The only piece of information I would add is that you are running a current version. In older releases (I forget the exact version) we did not track is isreads/iswrites/isdel on index fragments.
