Hello, I'm trying to configure Informix Enterprise Command Center (IECC) and SQL Editor on my NT machine to connect to a UNIX server running IDS 7.30.FC5 Two questions: 1. I have IECC running and it is able to detect the UNIX server, but it is using the DBSERVERNAME value for the server. I want it to use another name defined in DBSERVERALIASES, which I have configured for TCP communication. How do I do this? 2. I am able to connect to the system databases "sysmaster" and "sysutil" via SQL Editor. I have another database defined under the locale de_DE.ISO8859-1 Whenever I try to connect to this database, SQL Editor crashes. Are there some variables that I need to set in Setnet first? Thanks in advance. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

To use IECC with a Unix server, the DBSERVERNAME *must* be the TPC/IP protocol. I mentioned this to Informix at the Partner's Conference, and they said they'd look into it (I'm not holding my breath). You do know you need to be running the server agent on the Unix box as well, right? Dave
