Can you restore a single table from a full Informix Archive tape? We are running Informix 10. I have a scheduled backup every evening that backups the entire dbspaces. I have dbs0, dbs1 and dbs2 along with temp and root dbspaces. Our live database is in dbs0, train in dbs1 and dev in dbs2. Can I restore a single table from one of my databases from this full archive tape? Andy P.
Yes. You can restore a single table or any part thereof (ie filtered records) using the archecker utility. Art S. Yes, you can restore a single table EASILY with archecker. Easy to use and no impact or damage to current table/data . There are many good articles on single table restore using archecker e.g http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/dm-0608kim/ http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/dm-0704fraenkle/in dex.html?ca=drs-&ca=dkw-informix Cheers. Everything should work fine. However, make sure that you are taking into consideration the referencial constraints and the data consistency when before you try to do a single table import. Make a backup of your current table if you are not sure.
