Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Andrew Pistocchi asked whether a single table can be restored from a full Informix 10 archive tape. Art Kagel and H.G. said yes, using the archecker utility, with H.G. citing developerWorks articles. Sunil Thakkar added to consider referential constraints and data consistency, and to back up the current table first. Answered.

Can you restore a single table from a full Informix Archive tape? We
are running Informix 10. I have a scheduled backup every evening that
backups the entire dbspaces. I have dbs0, dbs1 and dbs2 along with temp
and root dbspaces. Our live database is in dbs0, train in dbs1 and dev
in dbs2.
Can I restore a single table from one of my databases from this full
archive tape?

Yes. You can restore a single table or any part thereof (ie filtered records)
using the archecker utility.

Yes, you can restore a single table EASILY with archecker. Easy to use and no
impact or damage to current table/data . There are many good articles on
single table restore using archecker e.g

Everything should work fine. However, make sure that you are taking into
consideration the referencial constraints and the data consistency when before
you try to do a single table import. Make a backup of your current table if
you are not sure.
Sunil.
