Build a device array consisting of one or more: zcat compressed.file.1 zcat compressed file.2 ... As long as the decompression is going to stdout you don't have to do more than that. cheers j. Hi folks Well I've finally sussed out how to unload to a named pipe and compress the output as I unload it, but can anyone tell me how I can reverse the process, i.e. uncompress a file and load it at the same time? I've tried various combinations of named pipes/dbaccess etc but so far I've failed... Cheers, Jon.
