Urgent help required adding dbspace on new IDS 7.24 installation
Posted in 1999
I have resolved the problem by using oninit -i instead of ON-Montitor -
Parameters - Initialize. The latter allocated all of my raw disk to the
rootdbs despite the fact the configuration file only specified 150,000KB.
Any reason for this ?
Thanks if you have already responded.

Subject: Urgent help required adding dbspace on new IDS 7.24 installation
I am installing IDS 7.24 on HP-UX 10.20.
I have a 2GB drive which has 1332MB allocated as raw device rlvol2. I have
created chunk /dev/vg01/online_7.24 which is linked to rlvol2. My
configuration file has 150,000KB for rootdbs. I have intialised disk space
and OnLine was started ok.
When I attempt to add another dbspace, offset 150,000KB, size 1150,000KB
with full pathname set to /dev/vg01/online_7.24, I get the message "the
chunk specified already exists". (Mirror and Temp set to N).
I have already performed identical installation on my development machine
but for some reason it doesn't work on my Production machine.
All help appreciated. I need to get my application up and runnig this
weekend
