libsql.a, libvsql4.a

Does anyone out there know the details about the libraries that are shipped for esql/c and 4gl? From what I can tell, libsql.a gets shipped with all the 4gl products. libsql4.a get shipped with esql/c. An 'ar tv' of these libraries shows them to have many of the same programs. For example, iqcomm.o is in libsql.a and libsql4.a. They are not the same size. There are many more programs that are in both libraries. Does anyone know if they are really the same rountine?
