I certainly don't want any newbies out here to get the idea that they'll get flamed here for asking any kind of question. I've seen people from this group (myself included) call up someone with a problem and in one or two instances, actually log onto their machine to look at problems. I really play up this newsgroup as a resource in all of my writings, and I know that I've gotten a lot of e-mail from users who found this newsgroup to be the best recommendation from the "Survival Guide". But...you need to be at least marginally polite about it. This guy got an eval product, posted a decent, intelligent question on the newsgroup, and when the first one or two replies didn't help him out, posted a reply saying essentially "just answer the damn question...no alternatives". I don't know about the rest of you, but the only people who can get my assistance with that attitude write me really big checks at the end of each month.
