I think I would upgrade the entire machine. I assume this is not only an old CPU (which will slow down your applications as well as your engine) but old (and, by modern standards, slow) disks as well. With 32M of memory you are probably getting excessive paging and maybe whole processes are getting swapped out. If I were in your position I would ask HP about trade-in options for a new box with a faster CPU, more memory and faster disks. Ian
