Which one should I chose and why? Informix is a mature tool!!! if you have paid the licence keep it... if you still want to prove postgres or mysql i will recommend to you postgres... it's not perfect (yet) but has more features than mysql, is more stable, conforms more to the sql standard, has native support for transactions (in mysql you have to compile with an option and create the tables with an option to make those tables transactional, and you can have both transactional and non-transactional table in the same database and in a rollback the first will be affected and the second no)... postgres is not a child nor a starting project... Informix is a good tool but keep an eye on postgres... regards, Jaime Casanova
